I went there after reading the Yelp reviews and because it was only a few minutes away from my families condo! I had the Carnitas and Fish taco one day and a Chorizo breakfast burrito the other day. All were really yummy and the ladies working there were very nice! If you're in the area it's worth a try and it's cheap. They also serve the breakfast burritos all day, a plus!

It's OK. I went there for lunch with coworkers. I was a little annoyed that we all ordered similar things and added Sour Cream, however, I was the only one charged for it, after I ran my debit card so I used change to pay. When we sat down to eat, everyone who had not been charged extra had sour cream and I did not. Only non Spanish speaking person... Just saying. In terms of just the food, the meat wasn't seasoned all that well, and I've had better at most Mexican restaurants

The carne asada burrito is DELICIOUS!! Customer service is hit or miss, but everyone has their off days. Great food!

Price is low, hours are great and the service is always prompt. Large portions for a good price, great variety and very tasty food! I wish their sign was a easier to read, it looks like a hole in the wall but serves high quality food.

Adobado burrito is my go to every time I'm in town. It makes lunch always end with a smile of contentment!

So delicious! I want it everytime I come down to AJ for the weekend. Their food is better than Erikberto's and Filiberto's and at a lower price. It doesn't look like a lot when you drive by it, but believe me you have got to stop into this little hole in the wall. Truly the gem in the Apache Junction mexican food scene.

There are other taco shops to eat at in AJ/East Mesa, but none are as affordable or have as much character as Los Favs. The California burrito is cheaper and far superior than at other shops. Chicken tacos as well. Get some green sauce and dig in!

I went in knowing what I wanted to order, as I've visited Los Favoritos' other locations several times. It was a bean burrito with potatoes added to it but instead, she rung me up for a breakfast burrito without the eggs. The cashier overcharged me and was very uncourteous about it, saying it was the way they did things at her store. I don't plan on coming back and would recommend the other location on Ellsworth and Main instead. The building is very shabby too and you can't even stand or look at the menu without feeling claustrophobic.

I am a crispy taco snob. These rank right up there in my top 5. It's a small place, with friendly staff and well worth a visit. 'Nuf said.

Normally my experience here is better, coming here a couple times a month, I always order the same thing, however today they completely botched the order.. Burrito is loaded with sour cream and I asked for none. Just disappointing, I was really looking forward to it and now won't be enjoying it.

I've never had anything bad to say about this place. Their service is always quick, store always clean, and food always delicious. Definitely prefer Los favoritos over the other "bertos" establishments.

I have upgraded Los Fave's to 5 stars! I'm SO GLAD I gave them another try! I now go every Saturday morning for a bean and egg burrito and often during the week for a green chile burrito for dinner. Their red salsa is INCREDIBLE! Update on the hamburger reference in my earlier review...I'm told they are nasty:(. But I don't care, I don't eat hamburgers anyway! I still want to try to ceviche!

Solid breakfast burritos. Full of flavor, they don't skimp on the meat and potatoes. I also prefer tasting the tortilla and they deliver. My friend enjoyed hers too, but prefers more egg. Great to stop and go grab a quick bite after a hike. No need to feel underdressed...after writing all this a trip to the bathroom changed my feelings about coming here. A backed up, unmaintained rest room *barf* if that's how the public restroom is I can only wonder about the kitchen (where my thoughts go).

A last minute stop in. We were pleasantly surprised by the menu selection and the cashier was extremely helpful. The serving size was very large and we could not finish our meals. Food was terrific! We will definitely come here again to try other items on the menu.

If you want burgers...don't come here! Their specialty is Tex-Mex and it is very good. Like a few others we are addicted! It is a weekend ritual. At times the spice level varies but always temperature hot and made to order. My favorite is the green chile burrito with the red salsa. The way they heat the giant tortilla varies a little too. Sometimes it is a little more cooked. The staff is always friendly and ready to serve. Try it at least once and you will be hooked. Oh, also it is a bit of a dive but the food more than makes up for it! see you there :)

I love hole in the wall places - this one is definitely it! I am very tempted to give it 2 stars - but because the food was very hot, fresh, and good, I had to go with the 3 stars. We met after my grandson's baseball game for a quick lunch on a Saturday. This place is nothing to look at from the outside, looks like a Taco Hut right off the beaten path of Apache Junction. There are about 5 tables total and a little bit of standing room at the counter. The best part was that they spoke English! We ordered our food and pulled some tables together since there was 7 of us. Here is where my problem started, BIG SIGN says "NOW WE HAVE AC!" Thank goodness I thought since it was 90 degrees outside! NO AC working today - Yes there was a wall unit AC at both ends, but I think only one of them was working partly. Just sitting there eating I was in a sweat! I can't do that, no matter how good the food is. My advice - come and take your food home! Or better yet eat outside if it's cool enough.

My wife and I are addicted to this place. Not much to look at, not many seats... but if you are looking for some good mexican food, this taco shack is awesome. I would even take it a step further and say they are better the bertos chains.

BOMB!!!!!! Enough said! I am super picky with mexican food too.

Good food for the price. Definitely better than the chains. We had the vegetarian (rice, beans, lettuce, tomato, onion, guacamole) and the adobada (ground beef) burritos with red (mild) and green (medium) sauce on the side. The vegetarian burrito was very large. It was $9 for both.

This little shack serves good food. They are a Filibertos clone, with all of the same food, but I think they they make most of the food better, or at least as good. The California Burrito is awesome. So why do I only give them 3 stars? It is a shack in a dirt lot. Honestly, that keeps me away. I realise that most of these type of shops are in rundown or older buildings, but this place is particularly old. A newer building with a drive through would get my 5 star rating.

This place was good. I had a Super Vegetarian Burrito with potatoes and it was good. Could've had a bit more beans, but that's ok, Since a Vegetarian Burrito didn't normally come with potatoes. Burrito was $4.37. Good cheap eats. I'd return for sure.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
